Front cover & evaluation

This is the first magazine front cover I created, I used the photo I took during a photography session in a media lesson, I cropped the photo to make it fit nicely on to a magazine front cover, and then I used the heal tool to get rid of the spots on the models face and that is all I did while editing my photo, to get the masthead font I went on to dafont.com and downloaded it, once it had downloaded I had to extract it and then copy the font, I then went to computer - windows - fonts and pasted it into the font folder. I added text to tell the audience what the content of the magazine is going to be, I added stroke to this text to make it jump out at the audience alot more, I got the barcode of the internet and inserted it into the document.

I chose the red and black colours so that I could stick with the 3 colour palette rule, which on this front cover is red, black and blue, I used this rule so that if someone looks at my front cover they are not to overwhelmed by what they see and they do not feel asthough they are being attacked by loads of colours, it also helps to keep the product nice and tidy.

If I was to create this product again I would take a wider range of photos during the photography session so that I would have more choice to choose from when picking which one to include on my front cover, I would also take more time choosing a font on dafont.com because the font that I have as the masthead at the moment does not match the name of the magazine so it does not really make that much sense, I would also tone the stroke down as when you look at it looks quite overwhelming which makes it difficult to read the text, I would lastly shrink down the barcode as it quite eye catching but I do not want it to be.
